I’m Edwin de Vries, a Netherlands-based photographer focused on music, sports and events — working close to the action without losing sight of the story around it.
I love photographing the energy, passion and emotion of artists and athletes, and the atmosphere that makes an event memorable. My goal is simple: make the people in front of my camera look their best while capturing the moments that genuinely define the occasion.
From intimate club shows to festival stages: live photography focused on performance, atmosphere and the relationship between artist and audience.
Fast, editorial sports photography built around decisive moments, emotion and a workflow designed for publication and live delivery.
Natural business event coverage that captures speakers, guests, interaction, branding and the overall atmosphere without turning the event into a staged shoot.

I prefer to work in a way that lets people stay focused on what they are doing. Whether I am in a photo pit, alongside the pitch or moving through a business event, I look for strong images without unnecessarily interrupting the moment.
That approach also means getting to know the people I work with. With bands I like to arrive early when the planning allows it, at sports assignments I work with an editorial mindset, and at events I stay alert to both the key programme moments and everything happening around them.
Alongside photography, I teach students at the Media, ICT & Design College in Amersfoort, where I get to share the same enthusiasm for creating and developing ideas with a new generation.
“Really amazingly beautiful photos, Edwin! You have a special eye and a very unique touch. Super thanks!”
